Zoo Day in Tacoma

We made it to Washington! It took some time to get an internet provider (older house, too many boxes in garage still to run all the necessary cables...), but we were up and running, and then our computer bit the dust. Well, just needed some repairs. But here we are, intact, weary and happy, bitten with some nostalgia and homesickness for Montana.

Here's the clan at the Point Defiance Zoo. The kids got to see some of the Seattle wonders we'd promised. It is the smaller of the two area zoos, and not as crowded on a beautiful summer weekend the locals say. It was lovely. Great to get out of the house (we were still a one-car family at this point and I and the kids were getting antsy).

hi guys!
so good to see your smiling faces! the zoo looks like a lot of fun.

and it looks like beautiful sunshine too.

now that it's almost august, we have entered smoke season, and it's not so nice. everyone is super congested and it's hot too.

we went camping at a cabin this weekend and all had the same thought, wouldn't it be fun if the hahn's were here? wouldn't jenelle's sticky buns taste good right now?

i spent all last monday canning, not one, but 2 cases of fruit. i thought of you often jenelle, as the sweat poured off and i thanked the good lord for my air conditioner.

we sure miss you guys! we are going to write letters and SEND THEM for school today. that last step always eludes us somehow, but we will try hard to actually lick the envelope and walk across the street to the mail box.

hope you are enjoying your new place and settling in. one box a day right?

love and hugs to everyone!
