The 7 and up crowd made it up to Crystal Mountain this winter for our first Seattle family ski outing (courtesy of Grandma Dorothy who watched the younger two). It was a beautiful day and wonderful fun--my first time back on the slopes since before Amelia was born (11 years+) and my first time on skis in probably 14 years (we all skied--no snowboarding yet!).
The beautiful thing about going skiing with kids this age is that you don't have to be good--quite yet. Amelia will be able to outski me soon. She and Caleb and Joel (first pick) took a few lessons this winter, and she likes speed. Mike did get a snowboard, and we've had to put it away so that Micah will stop begging to "ride it please!?" That combined with the Olympics may turn this crew into a bunch of daredevils.
While watching Snowboard cross on the Olympics Micah (age 2) kept repeating over and over, "Please I do that too, please? Please mine ride that?" He actually took my face in his hands and gently turned me to be sure I was listening and repeated it again, "Please, my do that? Pleeeeease?" Ah my....
