A little produce from the farm. We have an Auracana (Seahawk) that produces the slightly greenish eggs, a Rhode-island Red (Ginger) that acts like a pet dog; Bess a Dominique; Pumpkin a Buff Orphington; and Raven the Australops all who produce brown eggs--the white is a grocery store comparison. The neighbors have kindly not complained (we asked them first) though the HOA might frown. In the meantime we enjoy picturesque pets who give us food and compost our scraps, plus add a bit of fertilizer for the garden (and who are much quieter than the neighbor's dogs, or our own children, for that matter).

Cool! How do they taste?
Delicious! Bright yellow yolks and rich buttery flavor. The kids love to collect them. The chickens have started to get creative about where they lay, so we call it "Easter Egg Hunting" when we go out to collect eggs. After one especially cold spell we found several under the dryer vent. (Who says chickens are dumb?)
